Baby Safe II is an interactive program for Mac OS X 10.2 and above (10.3 and 10.4 OK) that provides a safe environment for your baby to Play with the computer, while at the same time preventing your baby from causing chaos on your computer.
Once you run Baby Safe II, it displays basic geometric shapes, the alphabet, numbers and pictures as the baby or toddler hits the keyboard or uses the mouse. Sounds are also used to teach the alphabet and the numbers. While Baby Safe II is active your work is safe and your baby can have some fun and learn a little bit.
Baby Safe II uses the whole screen, and it prevents application switching, the Dock and the menu bar from appearing. The power key is also disabled while Baby Safe II is running so there is no way to Get out of the program until you type a special word. Babies (and cats I am told) are therefore free to play around on the computer.
Once a special word such as "byebye", "adios", "Quit", "exit", "ciao" or "au revoir" is typed, Baby Safe II stops the animation and returns the menu and Dock to you. The chances of a baby typing that exact sequence of letters is very, very low.
